''A woman who has been married to a king cannot lay with any other man even if the marriage breaks up''- Ifa priest

''Olori Wuraola, must necessarily undergo appropriate traditional cleansing
process to enable her to regain normal life.'' -Ifa priest.

This statement is scaring right? ''A woman who has been married to a king cannot lay with any other man even if the marriage breaks up'' -Ifa priest. Well he is not talking to you if you are not married to any king in Yoruba land! This statement is for any queen to a king, and to any intending queen of Oba in any yoruba land.

Like the good book, the yoruba tradition on marriage is very strong but only especially when it is a marriage of royalty.

You remember that the marriage of Ooni of Ife,Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and his former wife, Olori Wuraola crashed 17 months of their marriage? The ex queen to the king has moved on,while the king himself is contemplating on another marriage! Yes,the usual expected thing to do now that the ex queen is out of marriage with her ex king is to remarry if she so wishes right? Or do any other thing with her life without the consent of the king or anyone else. But no,the ex queen is not allowed to do any such. Is this because,a soldier is always a soldier? Does being once a queen to a king mean she will be forever? Why would the Ifa priest say : ''A woman who has been married to a king cannot lay with any other man even if the marriage breaks up''?  Is the queen's marriage with the king tied to be forever?

''Marriage breakup is not very common among Yoruba Obas'' says the popular Ifa Traditionalist, Playwright, Actor and Author, Yemi Elebuibon who spoke to SUN on the marriage issue between Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and his wife  Olori Wuraola. This means that the Oba Adeyeye's marriage to Olori Wuraola wasn't the first marriage that crashed in yoruba land. Then the Ifa priest continues :  The ex-Olori Wuraola, must necessarily undergo appropriate traditional cleansing process to enable her to regain normal life.'' Hmm,this is a very powerful tradition. Was the ex queen aware of this before saying ''Yes I do''?

'the wife of the Oba will be asked to consult Ifa and Ifa will give directions on how she will make the necessary atonement for her cleansing. In Yoruba tradition, a woman who has been married to a king cannot lay with any other man even if the marriage breaks up. But when the right atonements have been made, there won’t be problem'. What kind of problems will the ex queen encounter if she fails to take these procedures for cleansing?   Elebuibon said: 'for the woman, she might not really have a problem but for any man who sleeps with a queen or marries an ex-queen without the appropriate cleansing, the man may die prematurely, he may be struck with sickness or there might be retrogression in his life'. Jesus! This is serious! Men,take serious note of this!!!

He,the Ifa priest finally explained that if an ex-queen wants to remarry, she will have to do the cleansing with her new husband. Both of them have to take part in the atonement procedures so that they won’t have any future problem.  “Any marriage she would be going into must not be elaborate. They should go far away and avoid any flamboyant wedding,” Elebuibon warned.
