''IPOB is not a terrorist organization under U.S. law'' the Americans told Nigerian Minister of Information and Culture

''It is unfortunate that American Government does not
see IPOB as a terrorist organization''-Lai Mohammed
"It is unfortunate US doesn

Wow! This is the greatest goodness the indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB have had over the years.
Following the attack of the Nigerian soldiers in the home of the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra,Prince Nnamdi Kanu which IPOB members
refuted on September 10,2017,the federal government and the military all declared IPOB,a terrorist organization.

Surprisingly, after what seems to be two weeks after the declaration of IPOB,a terrorist organization by Nigerian government, the spokesman for the American Embassy in Nigeria, Russell Brooks, in a recent interview with BBC, said that the US was committed to Nigeria’s unity and would support a peaceful resolution of any crisis in the country. 'The Indigenous People of Biafra is not a terrorist organization under US law' Russel Brooks says.

This statement was said to the Minister of Information and Culture,Lai Mohammed in an interview he had with BBC London. Below is the full discussion between the spokesman for the American Embassy in Nigeria, Russell Brooks, and the Nigerian Minister of Information and Culture,Lai Mohammed:

When asked the position of American government, over the issue of declaring the indigenous people of Biafra a terrorist organization by Nigerian government, Russell Brook says:

"The United States Government is strongly committed to Nigeria’s unity. Important political and economic issues affecting the Nigerian people, such as the allocation of resources, are worthwhile topics for respectful debate in a democracy. Within the context of unity, we encourage all Nigerians to support a de-escalation of tensions and peaceful resolution of grievances. The Indigenous People of Biafra is not a terrorist organization under US law'.

In reaction to the statement of Russell Brooks that IPOB is not seen as a terrorist organization by American government,Lai Mohammed, says:

“That’s very unfortunate because if countries decide to pick and choose which organizations are terrorists and which are not bearing in mind that terrorism has no boundaries, I think what we should do is, every country should work together to ensure that terrorism does not strive.”

Speaking further, the Minister of Information and Culture says‘’The acts and utterances of IPOB were acts and utterances of terrorists. For instance Nnamdi Kanu was caught on tape saying that they want Biafra and not peacefully but by force and that if they don’t get Biafra, Somalia will be a paradise with the kind of mayhem,’’.

When asked however, why a man without a weapon could be termed a terrorist,Lai Mohammed says:

''This is also the same man who opens a safe for arms and the same man who set up his own Biafra national gathering, his own Biafra secret service and the same man who actually attacked army formations''.

Hmm,there are still many talks on the table! To us here,it is no longer Biafra versus Nigerian government, but Nigeria versus America!!!
