Southeast governors ban IPOB activities in southeast Nigeria

Well, for many days now,it has been one clash after another between the indigenous people of Biafra IPOB and the Nigerian military in Abia state Nigeria. If you recall, you would see that on the 10th day of September 2017,on a good afternoon of the Sunday, while people were having their fun in their designated places, the Nigerian military took to the home of the IPOB leader,Prince Nnamdi Kanu. On seeing the military invade the territory of the IPOB leader, the IPOB members
took to his defense, doing everything possible to stop the military invasion into the home of their leader. Then the military took up action, resulting to death of some  people, leaving others seriously wounded.

To curtail the unrest in the state,Nigerian Army was sent to the state to bring orderliness. The coming of the Nigerian Army to Abia state has brought no calmness in the state but harassment, more killing of people and humiliation to the people of Biafra.

It is because of the state of anarchy in the state, causing incidence of killing and raising abuses on the people of Biafra, making them run away from their homes to sleeping in bushes for safety, that the Abia state governor asked the Nigerian military to withdraw from his state.

On 15th of September 2017,all the southeast governors in their contribution to keeping peace and orderliness in the country had an emergency security meeting at Enugu State government House. However,it was at this meeting that the southeast governors placed a ban on all the activities of IPOB in southeast,Nigeria.

The governors of southeast further appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately withdraw the Military troupes deployed to the Southeast region so as to douse the tension already created in the polity, assuring that they will follow up ongoing investigation into allegations of killings and torture by the Military.
